Australia Unemployment Rate Stable 4.9 Percent In May |

June/09 - Australia's unemployment rate steady at 4.9 percent in May, matching the previous month's data rate and the expectations of economists. However, detailed data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) also shows that increasing the amount of work missed by a mile than expected.
Expected to increase 25,000, Australia was only adds jobs in May 7800 to a total of 11,440,500.
The participation rate, meanwhile, also remained at 65.6 percent. Previous Economists estimate the participation rate rose slightly to 65.7 percent. Aggregate hours worked per month increased by 6.4 million hours to a total 1.601 billion hours.
Other details show the number of unemployed increased by 8900 or 1.5 percent to 592,800 inhabitants.
