Consumer Confidence Levels and Improved Household Japan in May

June/09 - Japanese consumer confidence improved in May. The result of the Japanese government survey showed consumer sentiment indicator rose to 34.2 from 33.1 earlier in April. Data the actual number is lower than expected by economists.

Meanwhile, the level of household confidence rose to 34.8 from 33.4. Of the four sub-indices that make up the indices, all showed an increase from the previous month.

Sub-index dependence of life (livelihood index) rose from 34.9 to 36.5 in May. Similarly, income growth sub-index, rose to 37.5 from 36.9. While sub-indices of employment and the ability to buy goods with a useful life of 3 years or more rose to respectively 28.7 and 36.4.
